Die Ausstellung SCHAUM DER TAGE präsentiert eine Auswahl zeitgenössischer kroatischer Kunst aus der Sammlung der Galeristin und Kunstsammlerin Dagmar Meneghello. Im Mittelpunkt der Ausstellung steht der Salon als Ort der Begegnung von Kunst, Leben und dem Widerstand gegen das Vergessen, inspiriert vom gleichnamigen Roman "Schaum der Tage" von Boris Vian. Werke verschiedener Generationen kroatischer Künstler*innen sind zu einem lebendigen, organischen Ganzen vereint, das den Mittelmeerraum mit Mitteleuropa verbindet.
Die Ausstellung zeigt zum ersten Mal einem größeren Publikum in Österreich einen Teil dieser besonderen Sammlung. Sie entstand auf der Insel Palmižana und spiegelt Ideen von Freiheit, Austausch und kreativem Ausprobieren wider.
The exhibition FROTH ON THE DAYDREAM presents a selection of contemporary Croatian art from the collection of gallerist and collector Dagmar Meneghello. At the heart of the exhibition is the salon as a place where art, life, and resistance to oblivion intersect, inspired by Boris Vian’s novel of the same name "Froth on the Daydream". Works by different generations of Croatian artists are brought together into a vibrant, organic whole that connects the Mediterranean with Central Europe.
The exhibition offers a wider Austrian audience a first look at part of this unique collection, created on the island of Palmižana, shaped by a spirit of freedom, exchange, and creative exploration.
